Visiting the Gringo Loco

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to meet Douglas who calls himself El Gringo Loco Viviendo en la Amazonia (the crazy gringo living in the Amazon), during a visit to his beautiful Yachana Foundation. Although I’m tallest in the pictures, make no mistake-he’s greater. It was a pleasure to talk with him, receive his hospitality, and end our visit with best wishes and a hug. I’m grateful to have felt his great energy for good. He has impressed me for years. The fact that he began working on preservation, conservation, and restoration of the Amazon at the time he did is remarkable. He is truly a treasure in the world, someone who has contributed much.
